TRAVELOGUE FSP : PARIS EXHIBITION

Every time we return to Paris, it feels like we’re flipping open a well-loved book—one that’s thrilling and familiar at once. It’s our dream city, but also the city that softly says “home”. As couturiers, we’ve always found inspiration in Paris—the art, the architecture, the fashion, the poetry of the streets—but over the years, this city has become more than just a creative muse. It has become an emotion, a ritual, a place that wraps around us with its warmth and magic.

This time too, we came under the pretext of work. A prestigious exhibition, Première Vision, which is considered to be the most important textile fashion fair in Paris, had us participate to showcase our edgy couture pieces—a celebration of Indian craftsmanship with an international vocabulary. Paris has a deep-rooted understanding of couture, so presenting our creations here always feels like a dialogue with the best minds in fashion. The exhibition brought together visionaries, editors, stylists, and tastemakers from the Parisian scene and beyond. It was such a pleasure to see our designs strike a chord with an audience that so deeply appreciates art in its purest form. The conversations we had—about structure, movement, embroidery and inspiration—were invigorating and reaffirmed why Paris holds its place as the fashion capital of the world.

But Paris isn’t Paris for us without a camera in hand and couture in the frame. After the exhibition, we dove straight into one of our favourite work rituals—a fashion shoot in the heart of the city. Only this time, we swapped out the usual golden daylight for the mystery of the Parisian night. We wanted to bring alive the “Evening in Paris” mood—elegant, cinematic and slightly surreal. From Pont Alexandre III to the cobbled lanes of Montmartre, we captured silhouettes that shimmered against moonlight and neon, that whispered drama and avant-garde. The images that emerged? Nothing short of brilliant! There’s something incredibly powerful about juxtaposing our statement couture with the intimate stillness of Paris at night—it’s a kind of romance only this city can inspire.

Once the last shot was taken and our final meeting wrapped, we slid off our working shoes and slipped into our wanderlust pair. There’s no better way to experience Paris than walking hand in hand, especially when it’s Valentine’s Day and you’re with your forever someone. The streets sparkled a little brighter, the Seine shimmered a little softer, and the city opened its heart to us in the most tender, poetic way. We wandered without an agenda—meandering through Saint-Germain-des-Prés, sharing laughter over café au lait in a tucked-away bistro. We passed lovers with red balloons, couples dancing to a lone violinist and flower stalls overflowing with peonies and roses. But nothing compared to that one unforgettable moment—when the clock struck midnight and we found ourselves standing beneath the Eiffel Tower, its golden lights twinkling like stars. We stole a kiss as the tower lit up in celebration of Valentine’s Day. That moment is forever etched in our hearts.

What made this Parisian sojourn even more unforgettable was our stay at Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris. A shrine of elegance, art and impeccable hospitality, this hotel curates a Parisian dream. The interiors are breathtakingly chic, with curated art pieces and soft lighting that makes every corner Instagram-worthy. Our suite was a vision—modern yet soulful, with French windows that opened out to the city’s quiet charm. The staff? Warm, intuitive, and utterly professional, anticipating our every need with a grace that only Parisian luxury can offer.

Our breakfasts were sun-drenched and serene. But the true culinary highlights were our meals at Il Carpaccio and Le Bar Long. At Il Carpaccio, the Michelin-starred Italian restaurant, every dish that was served to us had immense flavour and finesse. We ate our weight in their handmade pasta and the desserts—which was all like a love letter to Italy in the heart of Paris. And at Le Bar Long, the cocktails were crafted like couture—each sip was a revelation. We lingered over small plates and big conversations, soaking in the velvet ambience and clinking glasses to yet another unforgettable trip.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to mark our Valentine’s Day getaway. Le Royal Monceau was a sensorial experience, where design comes together with indulgence, and where every moment felt specially designed for us.

As we zipped our suitcases and bid adieu to the City of Love, we did so with full hearts! Because Paris, for us, is never a one-time affair. It’s a lifelong romance. A place where we work, dream, and just be—as artists, as lovers, as wanderers. And as always, we left a little piece of ourselves behind, knowing we’ll be back to pick it up when the city calls us home again.
