Avatara offers a 14-course vegetarian tasting menu artistically created by the culinary maestro, Chef Rahul Rana. Showcasing a contemporary avatar of the soulful Indian food, Avatara’s menu masterfully expands the horizon of Indian cuisine presentations in stunning ways! With a seating capacity of 65 people for a single meal, the dining spot houses a main dining room, private dining room, and wine cellar. Parked inside Krishna Curve Building in Santacruz West, the restaurant spread across 2,100 sq ft takes inspiration from river Ganga and is adorned with a palette of white, blue, and sea green.

The 14-course meal at this premium vegetarian restaurant begins with Avatara’s signature dish and holy offering Naivedhya––a mix of makhan malai, bubbling mishri, and rose flavoured panchamrita. Presented in a peacock-themed plating, this sweet dish sets the stage for the whole experience. Next comes Alpahara–­–an okra chilli thecha (a kind of chutney) with a side of crispy alu vadi and a pool of sol kadhi that will leave you wanting more. Jadon––root chips with tempered chana mash and pomegranate chutney adds to the diverse flavours. The menu also features dishes like Shikhalu­–– a dish that highlights the medicinal properties of maize. Moving on, you can also encounter some familiar flavours in dishes like ‘Sandhita’ where achari broccolini will make you  reminisce about achari paneer.

What really stands out in their special menu is Karuvelvilas––a ghee roasted karela, served with mango sambhar gelato and dosai. Next-up is Grinjana, a turnip dish served with apple chutney and amaranth katlam. And that’s not it! There’s more from the box of Chef Rana’s innovative dishes. Avatara serves three different dessert including Ksira­­–– a crispy appam with coconut kheer and aamras bon bon, Madhuram––a Kumaon’s famed Bal Mithai paired with chocolate rosette and buransh ras, and a paan bon bon­­–– Parna.
