When to visit Doune Castle
The castle rests on the banks of the River Teith, where you can enjoy the scenic beauty, take a walk along the riverside, and explore the surrounding open fields. You can get a souvenir for yourself from the gift shop next to the castle. Make sure to visit Stirling Castle as well, which is just a 15-minute drive away. A better time to visit the castle is between November and April.
