Moo Deng, which literally translates to ‘bouncy pork’ is from an endangered species of Hippos, with only 2,000-2,500 adults left worldwide. Born in Thailand’s Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi. Chonburi is situated on Thailand’s eastern coast and is Bangkok’s nearest seaside town. You can hop on a bus or drive down to the village once you arrive in the capital city. Because of the large influx of Moo-admirers, the zoo changes the schedule for the visit daily to keep the crowd in control. Interaction with Moo-Deng lasts only for 5 mins and it changes according to her moods. Usually, baby Moo is the most active between 2:30pm to 5pm. Take note that only groups of 30 to 50 people are only allowed near the enclosure.
