The fans went gaga over the web when glimpses of Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif’s wedding were officially shared on the social media handles of the stars. They tied the knot at Six Senses Fort Barwara, a heritage hotel in the renowned tiger district, Ranthambore. The luxury hotel is established 30 minutes away from the famed tiger reserve.
Located in the village of Chauth Ka Barwara, situated about 68 miles southeast of Jaipur, this 700-year-old fort in Ranthambore faces the ancient Chauth Ka Barwara Mandir. Six Senses Barwara Fort is a fort-palace hotel that is nestled amid the rugged wilderness of Rajasthan.
The centuries-old walled fort in Sawai Madhopur is restored to its original grandeur and houses two palaces and temples. The restoration of the fort took more than a decade.
Constructed by the Chauhans in the 14th century, a Rajasthani royal family, the revived fort doubled up as the first resort of the luxury hotel chain – Six Senses. The group manages 16 resorts and hotels and 27 spa and wellness facilities in almost 20 countries.
Opening its doors for guests in October 2021, Six Senses Fort Barwara houses 48 opulent suites featuring minibars and all the modern amenities. It mirrors the architectural heritage and cultural regality of the Barwara community.
Sustainable restoring techniques were incorporated to turn the heritage property into a luxury palace hotel. Techniques like rainwater harvesting and solar panels are installed to reinterpret the majestic charm of the property. Conscious efforts have been made by Six Senses Barwara to preserve the ruins of the fort as well as reforest the surrounding regions in Ranthambore.
